Feeling workplace burnout?

Join a cohort of others like you to get support

No matter where you are in your journey with Vicarious Trauma and workplace burnout, BRAVE is here for you.

Let’s start by acknowledging that you know how to heal from vicarious trauma and burnout

And that’s actually half the battle - when we’re not walking the walk, we can get stuck in our own shame spiral, ultimately making things worse. Our work makes us especially vulnerable to mental exhaustion from the work we do, and we have to take that seriously.

You start feeling like you’re just white-knuckling it through so many parts of your life when what you’re craving is the ability to be present for the things you love most.

This can include the work you’re super passionate about, experiences with loved ones, and even those quiet moments first thing in the morning before the sunlight has said hello to the world yet.

Now that we’ve named the elephant in the room (vicarious trauma at work), let’s talk about why you don’t do all the things you “should” be doing.

Well, there’s life - everyone needs something from you, personally and professionally, so when are you ever going to find the time to take care of yourself?

Then there’s that whole HIPAA thing, so you can’t really talk to anyone about your work (if you even wanted to), unless they’re a therapist too.

Oh, and you literally have zero time between sessions to consult, or you work in private practice so you don’t have a whole lot of regular interaction with your colleagues.

Reading all these barriers to caring for yourself may feel hopeless, but I want you to know that I got you. You don’t have to do this work alone.

As a fellow trauma therapist, I am speaking to you from my heart and lived experiences. Because I know how debilitating and destructive vicarious trauma can be, I committed to create a community where trauma therapists build each other up and thrive together.

I have worked in community mental health, academia, and private practice, and I know that every system is broken in its own ways—causing us all to feel immense amount of mental exhaustion and burnout. However, that doesn’t mean we have to break along with it. Being a trauma therapist is a core part of my identity, but so is being a mom, a partner, and a friend.

When you become part of the BRAVE community, you too will be invited to thrive in your role as a trauma therapist alongside all the other parts of yourself. You will be welcomed by people who get this work and understand why you show up for it day in and day out.

BRAVE will rally around you in the dark times, and celebrate ALL of your wins.

Here are all the ways BRAVE can support you…
